Redact or edit a WMV file using Total Recorder Video Pro |
Introduction
Liberty Recordings recommends that redaction performed on files created by LIR be done against resulting WMV files and not against the original DCR files. This page shows the redaction of a WMV file using Total Recorder Video Pro, a program available from the developers of the Liberty System, High Criteria Inc.
Redacting a WMV file is accomplished in 4 quick steps:
The 4 steps are shown in the following screen captures.
Open the WMV file in Total Recorder Video Pro:
Drag the Position icon to the beginning of the fragment to be removed. Note: The fragment to be removed must begin and end on a Key Frame. Use the Jump to Key Frame button to adjust the Position icon to a Key frame, if required. There will be about 4 Key Frames per second, so this jump will be for only a fraction of a second.
Click the Set Beginning button to set the beginning point of the fragment to be removed.
Drag the Position icon to the end of the fragment to be removed. Note: The fragment to be removed must begin and end on a Key Frame. Use the Jump to Key Frame button to adjust the Position icon to a Key frame, if required. There will be about 4 Key Frames per second, so this jump will be for only a fraction of a second.
Delete the fragment to be removed and Save the updated file.
